A Rare Video of Stratford Caldecott
This paper was delivered at the Centre of Theology and Philosophy conference on ‘The Soul’ in 2013, and filmed in Oxford on 30th June 2013 (a little over a year before he passed away). Today, his family are sharing this video in honour of the tenth anniversary of his passing.
Stratford Caldecott, MA (Oxon.), STD, FRSA, was a writer, teacher, editor and publisher. He wrote one of the first books on the spiritual elements in JRR Tolkien’s writings, originally titled “Secret Fire” and re-published in a new edition by Crossroad in 2012 under the title “The Power of the Ring: The Spiritual Vision Behind the Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit”. Caldecott was the co-founder of Second Spring and the Centre for Faith & Culture.
